UPDATE: NEW LOCATIONS FOR BRIGHTLINE WEST FIELD INVESTIGATION WORK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
LAS VEGAS (October 21, 2024) – Brightline West announces updates to field investigation work in Southern California within the rail corridor that is located along the Interstate 15 right-of-way. No field investigation work is scheduled for the week in Nevada.
Field investigation work includes geotechnical borings and samplings, utility potholing, and land surveying. Work will take place primarily during daytime hours with some work at night to minimize disruption to traffic. In some instances, short-term closures of freeway shoulders will be required. All work will be done in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and in coordination with Caltrans.
Updated project areas are listed below. Motorists should proceed with extra caution through work zones and adhere to posted detour signs, speed limits, and other signage.
California
Arrow Route (I-15):
Potholing will occur near Arrow Route (under crossing the I-15 freeway). This will happen on Monday, Oct. 21, and Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Closure will be required.
Near Duncan Canyon (I-15):
Potholing will take place north of Duncan Canyon, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans’s right of way. It will occur on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Shoulder closure will be required.
Near Beach Ave (I-15):
Potholing will take place near Beach Ave., near the north side of the southbound I-15 freeway. This will occur on Tuesday, Oct. 22, and Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Shoulder closure will be required.
Near Rochester Ave (I-15):
Potholing will take place near Rochester Ave. This will occur on Wednesday, Oct. 23, Thursday, Oct. 24, and Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Lane/shoulder closure will be required. Closure will be required.
Near SR -210 Connector:
Potholing will take place near the SR-210 Connector, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's right of way. This will occur on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Shoulder closure will be required.
North of Nisqualli Rd (I-15):
Potholing will occur north of Nisqualli Rd, near the south side of the northbound I-15 freeway. It will occur on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Shoulder closure will be required.
Near Nisqualli Rd (I-15):
Potholing will occur near Nisqualli Rd, on the north side of the southbound I-15 freeway, on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Shoulder/lane closures will be required.
On I-15 South of Lenwood Road to North of Hodge Road:
Plate Load Testing will be performed in the freeway center median, Wednesday, Oct. 23rd through Friday, Oct. 25th, from 6:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.
