UPDATE: NEW LOCATIONS FOR BRIGHTLINE WEST FIELD INVESTIGATION WORK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
LAS VEGAS (October 28, 2024) – Brightline West announces updates to field investigation work in Southern California within the rail corridor that is located along the Interstate 15 right-of-way. No field investigation work is scheduled for the week in Nevada.
Field investigation work includes geotechnical borings and samplings, utility potholing, and land surveying. Work will take place primarily during daytime hours with some work at night to minimize disruption to traffic. In some instances, short-term closures of freeway shoulders will be required. All work will be done in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and in coordination with Caltrans.
Updated project areas are listed below. Motorists should proceed with extra caution through work zones and adhere to posted detour signs, speed limits, and other signage.
California
South of Duncan Canyon (I-15)
Potholing will take place south of Duncan Canyon, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans’s right of way. It will occur on Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.
South of Nipton Road (I-15)
Potholing will take place south of Nipton Rd, within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median, on Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
North of Duncan Canyon (I-15)
Potholing will take place south of Duncan Canyon, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans’s right of way. It will occur on Tuesday, Oct. 29, and Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closure will be required.
Near Death Valley Rd (I-15)
Potholing will take place near Death Valley Rd, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans’s right of way. This will occur on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Lane/Shoulder closures will be required.
Near Baker BLVD (I-15)
Potholing will take place near Baker Blvd., within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median. This will occur on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Lane closures will be required.
Near Rochester Ave (I-15)
Potholing will take place near Rochester Ave on Tuesday, Oct. 29, Wednesday, Oct. 30, and Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Near Alvord Mountain Rd (I-15)
Potholing will take place near Alvord Mountain Rd, within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median, on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Near Riverside Dr (I-15)
Potholing will take place south of Riverside, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans’s right of way. It will occur on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Lane closure will be needed.
Arrow Route (I-15)
Potholing will take place on Arrow Route on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closure will be required.
Near Muriel Dr (I-15)
Potholing will take place near Muriel Dr, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans’s right of way. It will occur on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Shoulder closure will be required.
Quarry Rd (I-15)
Potholing will take place at Quarry Rd, near the northside of the southbound I-15 freeway, on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Lane closure will be required.
On I-15 North of Wild Wash Road to South of Dale Evans Parkway
Plate Load Testing will be performed in the freeway center median, Monday, Oct. 28; Thursday, Oct. 31; and Friday, Nov. 1, 6:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.
On I-15 South of Lenwood Road to South of outlet Center Drive
Plate Load Testing will be performed in the freeway center median on Tuesday, Oct. 29, and Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 6:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.
