LAS VEGAS (October 7, 2024) – Brightline West announces updates to field investigation work in Southern California within the rail corridor that is located along the Interstate 15 right-of-way. No field investigation work is scheduled for the week in Nevada.
Field investigation work includes geotechnical borings and samplings, utility potholing, and land surveying. Work will take place primarily during daytime hours with some work at night to minimize disruption to traffic. In some instances, short-term closures of freeway shoulders will be required. All work will be done in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and in coordination with Caltrans.
Updated project areas are listed below. Motorists should proceed with extra caution through work zones and adhere to posted detour signs, speed limits, and other signage.
California
North of Duncan Canyon RD (I-15):
Potholing will take place north of Duncan Canyon Road RD, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's right of way. It will occur on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, and Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
South of Sierra Ave (I-15):
Potholing will take place south of Sierra Ave, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's right of way. It will occur on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lane/shoulder closure will be required.
North of Ranchero RD (I-15):
Potholing and manhole dips will take place north of Ranchero RD, outside of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, and outside and within Caltrans's right of way. This will occur on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Lane and shoulder closures will be required.
South of Duncan Canyon RD (I-15):
Potholing will take place south of Duncan Canyon Road RD, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's right of way. It will occur on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, and Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Along East Ave (I-15):
Manhole dips will take place along East Ave (crossing under the I-15 Freeway) on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Near Stoddard Wells RD (I-15):
Potholing and manhole dips will take place near Stoddard Wells RD, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's right of way. This will occur on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Shoulder closure will be required.
North of Dale Evans Parkway (I-15):
Manhole dips will take place north of Dale Evans Parkway, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's right of way. This will occur on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Shoulder closure will be required.
Near Oak Hill RD (I-15):
Potholing will take place north of near Oak Hill RD, on the northside of the northbound I-15 freeway lane, but within Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Lane/shoulder closures will be required.
Near Farmington (I-15):
Potholing will take place near Farmington, between the northbound I-15 freeway lane and Mariposa Road, outside and inside of Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Lane and shoulder closures will be required.
North of Oak Hill RD (I-15):
Potholing will take place north of Oak Hill RD, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's right of way. It will occur on Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Lane and shoulder closures will be required.
