UPDATE: NEW LOCATIONS FOR BRIGHTLINE WEST FIELD INVESTIGATION WORK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
LAS VEGAS (November 11, 2024) – Brightline West announces updates to field investigation work in Southern California within the rail corridor that is located along the Interstate 15 right-of-way. No field investigation work is scheduled for the week in Nevada.
Field investigation work includes geotechnical borings and samplings, utility potholing, and land surveying. Work will take place primarily during daytime hours with some work at night to minimize disruption to traffic. In some instances, short-term closures of freeway shoulders will be required. All work will be done in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and in coordination with Caltrans.
Updated project areas are listed below. Motorists should proceed with extra caution through work zones and adhere to posted detour signs, speed limits, and other signage.
California
Near Glen Helen RD (I-15):
Potholing will take place near Glen Helen RD on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Lane closures will be required.
Near Cajon Blvd (I-15)
Potholing will take place near Cajon Blvd on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Lane closure will be required.
Sycamore Creek Drive (I-15)
Potholing will take place in Sycamore on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Lane closure will be required.
Near Glen Pkwy (I-15):
Potholing will take place near Glen Helen Pkwy on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Lane closures will be required.
Near SR-138 (I-15):
Potholing will take place near SR-138, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, inside and outside of Caltrans's right of way. This will occur on Wednesday, Nov. 13, Thursday, Nov. 14, and Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Shoulder/lane closure will be required.
Near Beach Ave and SR-138 (I-15):
Potholing will take place near Beach Ave and SR-138, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, inside and outside of Caltrans's right of way. This will occur on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Shoulder closure will be required.
Near 8th Street and Rochester (I-15):
Potholing will take place near 8th Street and Rochester on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Near Kenwood Ave (I-15):
Potholing will take place near Kenwood Ave, outside of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits. It will occur on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Between Duncan Canyon and Beach Ave SR-138 (I-15):
Potholing will take place between Duncan Canyon and Beach Ave, outside of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, inside and outside of Caltrans right of way. This will occur on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Lane closure will be required.
Near I-15 south of Dale Evans Parkway:
Geotechnical borings and percolation tests will begin at the Victor Valley Station site on Monday, Nov. 11, and continue through Friday, Nov. 15, from 7:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.
On I-15 Oak Hill Road to Sierra Avenue:
Plate Load Testing will be performed in the freeway center median from Wednesday, Nov. 13, through Friday, Nov. 15, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
