UPDATE: NEW LOCATIONS FOR BRIGHTLINE WEST FIELD INVESTIGATION WORK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
LAS VEGAS (November 18, 2024) – Brightline West announces updates to field investigation work in Southern California within the rail corridor that is located along the Interstate 15 right-of-way. No field investigation work is scheduled for the week in Nevada.
Field investigation work includes geotechnical borings and samplings, utility potholing, and land surveying. Work will take place primarily during daytime hours with some work at night to minimize disruption to traffic. In some instances, short-term closures of freeway shoulders will be required. All work will be done in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and in coordination with Caltrans.
Updated project areas are listed below. Motorists should proceed with extra caution through work zones and adhere to posted detour signs, speed limits, and other signage.
California
North of Ranchero Road (I-15)
Potholing will occur north of Ranchero Road, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits. It will occur on Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, and Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Lane closure will be required.
Near Gurdley Street (I-15)
Potholing will take place near Gurdley Street, south of the northbound I-15 freeway lanes, on Friday, Nov. 18, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Shoulder/lane closure will be required.
Near Stoddard Wells Rd (I-15)
Potholing will take place near Stoddard Wells Road, south of the northbound I-15 freeway lanes, inside Caltrans’s right of way. It will occur on Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Near Oak Hill Road (I-15)
Potholing will take place near Oak Hill Road, north of the northbound I-15 freeway lanes, inside Caltrans’s right of way. This will occur on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Shoulder Closure will be required. Night work will occur on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Near Luna Road (I-15)
Potholing will take place near Luna Road, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits. Night work will occur on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, and Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Shoulder/lane closure will be required.
Near Roy Rogers Dr (I-15)
Potholing will take place near Roy Rogers Dr, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, inside and outside of Caltrans’s right of way. This will occur on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.
Near Quarry Road (I-15)
Potholing will take place near Quarry Road, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, inside and outside of Caltrans’s right of way. This will occur on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.
Near I-15 south of Dale Evans Parkway:
Geotechnical borings and percolation tests will continue at the VMF site from Monday, Nov. 18th, through Friday, Nov. 22nd, 7:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.
On I-15 Oak Hill Road to Sierra Avenue:
Plate Load Testing will be performed in the freeway center median from Monday, Nov. 18th, through Friday, Nov. 22nd, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
