UPDATE: NEW LOCATIONS FOR BRIGHTLINE WEST FIELD INVESTIGATION WORK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

LAS VEGAS (December 16, 2024) – Brightline West announces updates to field investigation work in Southern California within the rail corridor that is located along the Interstate 15 right-of-way. No field investigation work is scheduled for the week in Nevada.

 

Field investigation work includes geotechnical borings and samplings, utility potholing, and land surveying. Work will take place primarily during daytime hours with some work at night to minimize disruption to traffic. In some instances, short-term closures of freeway shoulders will be required. All work will be done in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and in coordination with Caltrans.

 

Updated project areas are listed below. Motorists should proceed with extra caution through work zones and adhere to posted detour signs, speed limits, and other signage.

 

California

 

Near Oak Hill Road (I-15):

Potholing will take place near Oak Hill Road, south of the northbound I-15 freeway lanes, inside Caltrans’s right of way. It will occur on Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, from 9 pm to 5 am. Shoulder closure will be required.

 

North of Ranchero Road (I-15):

Potholing will take place on Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. north of Ranchero Road, north of the southbound I-15 freeway limits.

 

Near Luna Road (I-15):

Potholing will occur near Luna Road, north of the southbound I-15 freeway limits, on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, from 8 am to 5 pm.

 

Near Quarry Road (I-15):

Potholing will take place near Quarry Road, north of the southbound I-15 freeway limits, inside and outside of Caltrans’s right of way, on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, from 8 am through 5 pm.

 

Between Duncan Canyon (I-15):

Potholing will take place near Duncan Canyon on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, from 8 am to 5 pm.

 

North of SR-138 (I-15):

Potholing will take place north of SR-138 on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, from 8 am to 5 pm.

 

Pacific Electric Trail (I-15):

Potholing will take place on Pacific Electric Trail on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, from 8 am to 5 pm.

 

Near I-15/I-215 Connector (I-15):

Potholing will occur near the I-15/I-215 connector on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, from 8 am to 5 pm.

 

On I-15 in Lytle Creek and in Cajon Creek:

Geotechnical and hydraulic borings will be performed in the Cajon Creek bed, west of the SR-215/I-15 interchange in Devore, on Monday, Dec. 16, and Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 7 am through 4 pm.

 

Geotechnical and hydraulic borings will be performed in the creek bed under the Lytle Creek Bridge from Wednesday, Dec. 18, through Friday, Dec. 20, from 7 am to 4 pm.

 

Adjacent to I-15 in Rancho Cucamonga:

Geotechnical borings will be performed south of Foothill Blvd., in the property adjacent to the southbound exterior shoulder, on Wednesday, Dec. 18, and Thursday, Dec. 19, from 7 am through 4 pm.
