LAS VEGAS (Sept. 16, 2024) —Brightline West announces updates to field investigation work in Southern California within the rail corridor located within the Interstate 15 right-of-way. No field investigation work is scheduled for the week in Nevada.
Field investigation work includes geotechnical borings and samplings, utility potholing and land surveying. Work will take place primarily during daytime hours with some work at night to minimize disruption to traffic. In some instances, short-term closures of freeway shoulders will be required. All work will be done in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and in coordination with Caltrans.
Updated project areas are listed below. Motorists should proceed with extra caution through work zones and adhere to posted detour signs, speed limits and other signage.
California
On I-15 from Wheaton Springs to Holleran Road:
Plate Load Testing will be performed in the freeway center median from Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20, 6 a.m. through 4 p.m.
On I-15 from Baker Blvd. to Field Road:
Plate Load Testing will be performed in the freeway center median from Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20, 6 a.m. through 4 p.m.
On I-15 from Mojave Drive to Palmdale Road:
Geotechnical borings on the northbound Mojave Drive on-ramp are scheduled for night closures on Monday, Sept. 16, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Geotechnical borings are scheduled on the northbound Palmdale Road on-ramp on Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Night closures are scheduled for geotechnical borings on the northbound Palmdale Road off-ramp on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Geotechnical borings on the northbound Roy Rodgers on-ramp are scheduled for night closures on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
I-15 between Ranchero Road and SR 395 Connector:
Geotechnical borings are scheduled on the center median at Ranchero Road on Monday, Sept. 16, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Night closures are scheduled on the southbound exterior shoulder before the SR395 connector ramp on Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Near Riverside Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place south of Riverside Road, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's Right of Way. This will occur on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Near Alvord Mountain Road (I-15):
Potholing will occur near Alvord Mountain Road within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median on Monday, Sept. 16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Near Minneola Road (I-15):
Potholing will occur near Minneola Road within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median on Monday, Sept. 16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Near Gurdley Street (I-15):
Potholing will take place south of Gurdley Street, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's Right of Way. This will occur on Monday, Sept. 16, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Near Stoddard Wells Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place near Stoddard Wells Road outside the northbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's Right of Way. Sewer inverts will be dipped near Stoddard Wells Road on both sides of the I-15 outside of Caltrans's Right of way on Monday, Sept. 16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Soapmine Road, Under the Freeway (I-15):
Potholing will take place under the I-15 along Soapmine Road within Caltrans's Right of way on Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lane closure will be required on Soapmine Road.
East of ZZYZX Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place East of ZZYZX Road within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median on Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
North of Stoddard Wells Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place north of Stoddard Wells Road, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's Right of Way. This will occur on Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Near Barstow Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place near Barstow Road within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median. This will occur on Wednesday Sept. 18, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Shoulder closure will be required.
Near Muriel Dr (I-15):
Potholing will take place near Muriel Dr., outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's Right of Way. It will occur on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Shoulder and lane closures will be required.
Near Mojave Dr (I-15):
Potholing will take place near Mojave Dr. outside the southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's Right of Way. Sewer inverts will be dipped near Mojave Dr. on both sides of the I-15 outside of Caltrans's Right of Way. This will occur on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
H Street (I-15):
Potholing will take place under the I-15 along H Street within Caltrans's Right of Way. It will also take place near the center I-15 median and outside of the southbound I-15 limits but within Caltrans's Right of Way. This will occur on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lane closure on H Street is required.
South of Lenwood Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place at south of Lenwood Road outside of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, but within Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Thursday, Sept. 19, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Near Mojave Dr (I-15):
Potholing will take place near Mojave Dr., outside the northbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's Right of Way. It will occur on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Near Stoddard Wells Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place near Stoddard Wells Road outside of the southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Friday, Sept. 20, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Near Quarry Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place south of Quarry Road, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's Right of Way. It will occur on Friday, Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Near Roy Rogers Dr (I-15):
Potholing will take place south of Roy Rogers Dr., outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's Right of Way. It will occur on Friday, Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
