UPDATE: NEW LOCATIONS FOR BRIGHTLINE WEST FIELD INVESTIGATION WORK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
LAS VEGAS (September 3, 2024) —Brightline West announces updates to field investigation work in Southern California within the rail corridor located within the Interstate 15 right-of-way. No field investigation work is scheduled for the week in Nevada.
Field investigation work includes geotechnical borings and samplings, utility potholing and land surveying. Work will take place primarily during daytime hours with some work at night to minimize disruption to traffic. In some instances, short-term closures of freeway shoulders will be required. All work will be done in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and in coordination with Caltrans.
Updated project areas are listed below. Motorists should proceed with extra caution through work zones and adhere to posted detour signs, speed limits and other signage.
California
On Nipton Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place at Nipton Road outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's Right of Way. This will occur on Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. approximately between Sta 2417+00 and 2418+00.
West of Nipton Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place on West Nipton Road outside the northbound I-15 freeway limit but within Caltrans's Right of Way. This will occur on Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., approximately between Sta 2440+00 and 2442+00.
East of Death Valley Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place East of Death Valley Road, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's Right of Way. This will occur on Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., approximately between Sta 4492+00 and 4494+00.
West of Halloran Springs Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place West of Halloran Springs Road within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median. This will occur on Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., approximately between Sta 3893+00 and 3894+00.
West of Halloran Springs Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place West of Halloran Springs Road within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median. This will occur on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., approximately between Sta 3963+00 and 3964+00.
East of ZZYZX Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place East of ZZYZX Road within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median. This will occur on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., approximately between Sta 4832+00 and 4835+00.
East of Death Valley Road (I-15):
Potholing will occur East of Death Valley Road within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median. This will happen on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., approximately between Sta 4502+00 and 4503+00.
East of Minneola Road (I-15):
Potholing will occur East of Minneola Road within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median. This will occur on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., approximately between Sta 7001+00 and 7002+00.
East of East Main Street (I-15):
Potholing will occur East of East Main Street outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans's Right of Way. This will occur on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., approximately between Sta 7757+00 and 7758+00.
On I-15 from PRIMM Valley Golf Course through Mountain Pass:
The Plate Load Testing will be performed in the freeway center median, Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6, from 6 a.m. through 4 p.m.
On I-15 from Razor Road to the Field Road:
The Plate Load Testing will be performed in the freeway center median from Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Friday, Sept. 6, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
I-15 between L Street and Dale Evans Parkway:
Geotechnical borings are scheduled on the center median and exterior shoulders on Thursday, Sept. 5, and Friday, September 6th, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On I-15 on Stoddard Wells Frontage Road to Palmdale Road:
Geotechnical borings are scheduled on Palmdale Road, Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 6 a.m. through 4 p.m.
Geotechnical borings are scheduled on Mojave Drive on Tuesday, Sept. 3, and Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Geotechnical borings are scheduled on the east Frontage Road near Stoddard Wells on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Geotechnical borings are scheduled on D Street on Thursday, Sept. 5th, and Friday, Sept. 6, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
